There’s something honest about beginnings.
Not the kind that arrive with noise or urgency, but the quieter ones — the kind that take shape slowly, almost unnoticed, like light returning at the end of winter.
Panting Deer feels like that to me.
It isn’t a musical project built on grand statements or polished certainty. It’s more like a place to sit for a while. A space to notice things I might otherwise rush past — a line in a song, a remembered feeling, the way a melody can often hold something that words can’t quite carry on their own.
I’ve been writing songs for a long time, but these ones feel different. They ask much less of me in terms of performance, and more in terms of honesty. They don’t need to be loud to be heard. They don’t need to be perfect to be true.
This blog will follow that same spirit.
I’m not entirely sure what will appear here yet — maybe fragments of songs, reflections on where they came from, thoughts on faith, doubt, creativity, and all the things in between.
If you’ve found your way here, you’re very welcome.
